HEALING PRESENCE IN YOU

I noted some years ago, as I read Leanne Payne’s Real Presence, that she made the point that righteousness appears to be outside us in the mindset of the knowledge of good and evil. The ‘we are not’ mindset stands’ outside us and condemns us when we live the separation from God that is the norm for many Christians. It’s the norm in that not a few strive to earn acceptance and the presence of God by what they do when they issue is what Christ has done.
HEALING AND WHOLENESS
In The Healing Presence she wrote, "If broken lives and souls are to be healed, it must begin with teaching the practice of the presence... To abide in the presence of the Lord is to begin to hear Him. To follow through on that hearing is to find healing, self-acceptance, and growth into psychological and spiritual balance and maturity."
THIS IS THE GOSPEL
This is not some new exotic teaching. It is the reality that is Jesus and the teaching of the apostles and Church Fathers. It’s important to live this because there are Christians who operate in the gifts who lived emotionally unhealed lives. Baxter Kruger urges that it is less about us accepting Christ and more about us knowing that we have been received into His Life.
Thomas Torrance whose teaching is based on the Church Fathers asserts that, “Christian faith starts with the knowledge of God in Jesus Christ. In that knowledge we are concerned not only with the duality of God and man in the unity of one person, but with the unity of Christ's person and his act in the one work of salvation.
MADE ONE WITH GOD IN CHRIST
Jesus Christ is one person whose word is wholly involved in his act and whose act is wholly involved in his person. We cannot therefore think of his person apart from his atoning work, or of his atoning work in abstraction from his person. We begin with the person of Christ, but it is his person who carries out the work of salvation, and in the strict sense it is Jesus Christ himself, the mediator, who is the atonement.”
Jesus Christ is the Living Way of overcoming the split life that is ours with the law standing against us thatresults in frustration and the lesser life of religion. Religion in which we strive to earn what we already have in union with Christ. Since the cross the Presence is in you and with you always.
